New Courses Available

We're excited to announce the four new courses that have been added to CPKN's course catalogue for October.

Trauma Informed Survivor Statement Trilogy (OPVTA Vol. 189)

This program consists of three documentary videos that were created with actual survivors, police officers, and subject matter experts. Each of the survivors is interviewed by a police officer as though it was their first-time reporting their information to police. The three videos are about: Survivor of Human Trafficking, Adult victim survivor of childhood sexual abuse at the hands of a Catholic priest, Indigenous survivor of domestic sexual assault.

Presented in partnership with the Ontario Police Video Training Alliance (OPVTA), Ontario Provincial Police and Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service.

Introduction to Hardened Secure Communications

The purpose of this course is to offer police and other Canadian law enforcement partners with timely, relevant, and interactive online training that provides a general knowledge and understanding of what Hardened Secure Communications are, their relevance in police investigations, and what to do when coming across these devices and platforms.

Presented in partnership with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

Public Alert Awareness

Public alerts are an important consideration when there is an immediate threat to public safety. This course is for all RCMP employees and will provide an overview of public alerts, as well as what is required to initiate one. This course is an online-only course designed to provide awareness on public alerts.

Understanding Community Safety and Well-Being

This course will explain the concept of Community Safety and Well-Being, provide students with the ability to recognize how Community Safety and Well-Being is important to police and their related agencies and partners at a broad level and more.
