The Canadian Police Knowledge Network (CPKN) is an extensive collaborative network operating as a not-for-profit with a vision of “Driving excellence in policing professional development”. Established in 2004, CPKN has since evolved to earn its standing as a trusted, reliable, an integral component of the Canadian and First Nations policing services and the communities they serve.

Job Summary

The Junior Courseware Developer acts as technical support for multi-departmental projects and is responsible for working with a team to create and maintain web-based templates and frameworks including layout, functionality, and user experience using html, css, and java script, following approved standards. As a member of the Development team, the Developer is responsible for developing services and processes for CPKN’s internal, public, and client-facing applications.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

• Embrace the principles of the CPKN Charter
• Create reusable, scalable, and accessible interactions meeting latest standards used throughout elearning solutions
• Create and maintain elearning course framework
• Create re-usable and scalable technical processes to support efficiency and clarity in product design and development
• Support the team in creating realistic solutions, identifying resources, and calling out risks, roadblocks, and avenues of opportunity
• Other responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or college diploma in related field (i.e., web development), or an appropriate combination of education and experience
• Proven Experience in Jave Script
• Demonstrated experience in web development
• Proficiency in front-end web technologies and frameworks
• High-level proficiency in eLearning Development (AICC/SCORM)

Other Skills:

• Expertise in web development: JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
• Understanding of tailwind
• Understanding of Node.js
• Understanding of Accessibility needs and requirements
• Understanding of responsive design and creating reusable interactive templates
• Minimum of 1 year of eLearning Development Experience (AICC/SCORM)
• Experience using an LMS such as ILIAS, Moodle, etc.
• Knowledge of and proficiency using elearning authoring software. Some of these include Articulate Storyline, Articulate Rise, Adobe Captivate, etc.
