F. Darren Smith Award 2019
The recipient of the 2019 F. Darren Smith Award is Marc Desaulniers, Director of Curriculum and Knowledge Development, École nationale de police du Québec (ENPQ) where he has worked since 2001.
His directorate includes the Knowledge and Expertise Centre, the Pedagogical Expertise and Curriculum Development Centre, and the Research and Strategic Development Centre whose research projects pursue the following objectives: improving police training, consolidating and contributing to the emergence of best police practices as well as supporting the ENPQ strategic development.
Marc is highly respected by his colleagues and is recognized for his collaborative efforts in the police community and his innovative problem- solving skills. “Marc is a solutions-oriented manager and is a key player in the vision of the Academy’s digital campus. His strategic thinking allows for ENPQ to effectively implement new training and forge relationships in the community,” said Yves Guay, Director General, ENPQ.
Marc was instrumental in the design of cannabis training following the legalization of cannabis and worked collaboratively with national partners to ensure information and knowledge were shared. Marc is currently actively engaged in work to update the national Competency-based Management Framework.
Marc demonstrates commitment and vision for technology enhanced learning through his work but also through his contributions to the CPKN National Advisory Committee working on both the Topic Selection and Competency committees,” says Sandy Sweet, President of CPKN.
Known by his colleagues as WikiMarc, CPKN is pleased to include Marc as the latest recipient of the F. Darren Smith Award.
