Fentanyl Production and Trafficking

This course will introduce learners to fentanyl, production methods, precursor chemicals required to produce fentanyl, the Precursor Control Regulations, and the hazards associated with fentanyl to assist in identifying and mitigating exposure to the toxic hazards associated with production.

When you have completed this course you will be able to:

• Recall important stages in the history of fentanyl
• Describe the purpose for which fentanyl was developed
• Recognize different forms of fentanyl
• Recognize the signs and symptoms of a fentanyl overdose
• Recall the methods of production of fentanyl
• Recognize the common chemicals used to make fentanyl
• Recognize the hazards of chemicals used to make fentanyl
• Identify key non-regulated chemicals
• Explain the function of the Precursor Control Regulations
• Identify precursor chemicals required in the production of fentanyl
• Recognize common equipment used in the production of fentanyl
• Recognize the signs of a synthetic drug laboratory
• Practise proper safety precautions in clandestine laboratories
