RCMP Sponsors 3 Month Access to Terrorism Indicators Training

Between February 1 and April 30, 2013, the RCMP is sponsoring free access to Terrorism Event Pre-Incident Indicators for all Canadian police, law enforcement, and first responder personnel via CPKN.

Forewarned is forearmed. Understanding the pre-cursors to terror events gives those tasked with the security of Canadians the advantage over would-be terrorists.

"It's important for all frontline officers to be informed and aware of potential terrorism indicators," says Lisa Gilliss, Manager of the RCMP Technology Assisted Learning Unit. "We're pleased to provide all first response professionals with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge about this critical issue."

The Terrorism Event Pre-Incident Indicators is a 1.5 hour course that is designed to increase overall situational awareness of trained law enforcement professionals. It describes possible terrorist event pre-incident indicators and attack methods, thereby improving the ability to recognize and respond to a possible terrorist event in the making.

This course was developed by the RCMP and has been made available to police and law enforcement agencies across the country via CPKN. After April 30th, the course will be priced at $50/learner.

For more information or to register to this course, please visit or contact CPKN at 1.866.357.2756.
