Collision Readiness Training - Coming Soon!
- Course Category:
This course was developed by the Ontario Provincial Police and made available to all police services via CPKN. Please be advised that this course may contain OPP-specific information/policies.
In the event of a collision, there are clear correlations between rate of speed, how items are secured, the use of seatbelts, and the level of injury sustained by occupants in the vehicle. With greater awareness and readiness, operators of motor vehicles can significantly improve their safety and the safety of their passengers in a collision event.
Collision Readiness Training shares new information learned through extensive collision testing. Using personal testimonies and in-car video footage from crash simulations, this course will help law enforcement and civilian personnel make better choices for safe driving practices.
Upon completion of this course you will be able to:
- Recall best practices for the proper securement of items (including phones, duty bags, laptops, and GPS units) within a vehicle;
- Describe the operational risks associated with unbuckling the seatbelt early; and
- Identify the specific implications of increased speed on level of injury.
This course is designed for all police, law enforcement, and civilian personnel.
